Here for the journey

Laura Lindsay on the importance of tailoring content to different platforms.

We spoke to Laura Lindsay, director of global communications at Lonely Planet, about the importance of putting the customer first in a multi-channel world.

Lindsay outlines how the brand has grown with its audience, but still holds true to its founding principle: to ensure travellers get the best available information. She says this is as applicable today as it was when the first Lonely Planet guide was published in 1973.

Today, the brand is using voice search and augmented reality to build the ultimate integrated customer journey, reflecting Lindsay’s view that innovation is understanding what role technology plays in solving a customer problem.
